xs vs XXL ToneX Essential (SC + HB)
In 2024 i announced that the year 2025 will be under the star of small and large amps and here we are.
In the red corner we have 6 of the most staggering high horse power amps, including some of the most powerful amps the brands included ever produced.
The largest Fender guitar amps, the largest Matchless guitar amp, the Sound City One Hundred and two gain monsters by Marshall that are iconic as it can ever get.
In the blue corner are the tiniest amps the included brands ever produced, all but one being single ended designs, mostly built around the 6V6 or the EL84 tube.
Through micing on a studio environment these tiny amps can give their larger siblings a run for their money as the micing context evens out the playing field quite a bit.
If you ever wondered how the small amp vs large amp sound actually compares on a number of examples - this will give you a really good grasp of things.
It's power and punch vs gobs of character, one of the rare fights where everyone is a winner.
2 captures per amp of 12 amps, featuring 6 amps below 10 watts and 6 at or over 100 watts of sheer power.
