In a once in a life-time opportunity Jimmy Page has given access to one of the best amp designers around - Mitch Colby - to his Nr. 1 Marshall Super Bass, which was modded by Tony Frank in New York. In the early 70's the amp was modded for even more power, headroom and punch that the Led Zeppelin guitarist required for the ever growing arenas.

The Sundragon Super Dragon is a painstakingly recreated clone of that particular and legendary amp that has graced countless stages and clocked in many studio hours with Led Zeppelin. Only 50 of those were ever produced, each one of them hand signed by Mr. Jimmy Page himself.

Sonically the amp has even more headroom than a stock Marshall Super Bass thanks to the 6550 tube upgrade. It has an incredible punch, string separation and tactile feel - like no other 100W Marshall. It sounds somewhat like a mix of a Marshall Super Bass and a Marshall Major 200 Lead - it is brighter and punchier than a super bass, but does not have that somewhat nasally quality that the Super Lead can sometimes have. It is a very big, bold and dynamic tone that is very distinct from all the other plexi Marshall variations that you will have experienced.

This is without a question one of the very best sounding amps we've played through and it is one of those occasions where even a price tag within this price range is justified, as the performance and legacy of this amp is like nothing else out there.

To round it off it comes with a cab that features meticulously recreated versions of the Celestion G12H30 55Hz Pulsonic speakers that are just as legendary as the amps itself and a big part of the tonal equation towards the Led Zeppelin tone and any other 60's and 70's big touring act as they all went for the H Magnet speakers and the 55Hz cone was the standard for these in Marshall cabs.

Don't miss out to get your hands on one of the most significant pieces of rock music's history.

The set features 45 DI captures of the amp and 2 IR's, including the Sundragon 4X12 cab with their custom speakers and a vintage 1968 Marshall 1982B 4X12 cab with Celestion G12H30 55Hz Pulsonic coned speakers. The mics used were 2x Royer R121, a Beyerdynamic M160 and a Neumann U87. Please refer to the full list of included captures in the product photo section.
