The life of the well renown and loved fusion guitarist Ed DeGenaro has taken a sudden turn after a fire in the apartment Ed stayed at and has strapped him of everything he owned. As a working musician he is struggling to rebuild his life and get back to normality.
Ed is also well known as an avid user and power user of multiple digital amp platforms and a part of the amp community, which is where we established a contact over the past years. So this is a chance for this community to offer support to one of its members in dire need.
We talked over the phone and bounced some some ideas. As a younger cat, i didn't know that the older fusion guitarist generation of the 70's, before Dumble became a thing, was using, among other things, Marshall amps to great extent. Ed is at his heart a Marshall guy. He checked out the REX captures and they instantly became one of his faves. So we throught to build on that and Ed told me what he was missing from the sounds for his style of music.
So this Complex Tone Model Expansion set includes higher gain range sounds (Drive and lead gain level) with the MRSH SB67 dubbed "REX" and features various drive and fuzz pedals. The tones are on the smoother and warmer side of things to get REX into higher gain levels without getting spitty, which does not suit Ed's style.
This set will add higher gained and warm tones to the REX Essential Tone Model set that will fit single coil guitars perfectly as well as those who want warm and rather smooth humbucker tones (while still retaining lots of detail).
Here is the full (and quite frankly impressive) line-up of pedals included:
1994 Klon Centaur
Original Grey Spec DOD 250
1980 Ibanez TS-808
Crowther Hot Cake
Paul Cochrane Timmy
Hermida Zendrive
Tone Bender MKIII
Benson Germanium Fuzz
Thorpy FX Fallout Cloud
The set includes 10 Complex Tone Models (full captures of the whole signal chain with pedals, amp and cab). Please refer to the full list of Tone Models in the product pictures.
I am going to say this for the first time: please, please buy this set - to get tones as warm as Ed's heart and to help a good cause - a win-win in my book! To acquire the Expansion set, pease follow the link below. The minimum donation is 10 EUR, but you have the options to donate 15, 30 or a custom amount. After a successfull donation, Ed will send you the zip file which contains the 10 Tone Models and our usual PDF with settings. This means there will be some delay until you receive it, as it is a manual process.
All the donations go directly to Ed through his PayPal. Don't be confused - Ed's real name is Freimut Mühlbauer.
