MRGN ACE20 ToneX Essential DI
The MRGN boutique brand has built its reputation on their knowledge on the AC style amps and this little fella here is a testament to that.
It is to my ears one of the best sounding EL84 amps I've ever tried. It features basically just the normal channel of an AC15 style amp, but that channel has been fine-tuned in ways that the originals and their reissues just don't come close.
There is no hint of the typical harsh upper midrange that EL84 output sections tend to have and that is not at the expense of livelyness and response of the power section. This simple channel has been made very versatile by finetuning of the circuit - it works really well from clean to a heavy crunch, where it fattens up considerably and where the Bass cut switch comes in handy to make it more usable on the highest of gai nsettings.
It also takes pedals incredibly well unlike many other EL84 based amps. If you are new to MRGN amps, this is a great entry drug.
The amp was tracked through a 2X12 MTCH cab with G12H75 Cram back speakers, which is what MRGN uses in their combos. The mics used are 2X Royer R121, 1X Beyerdynamic M160 and 1X Neumann U87.

Tone Model Import
After downloading the Tone Model set to your computer, the Tone Models can be imported from within ToneX:
Select the Presets Tab, right-click on any preset in the list and select "import". Select the presets you want to import.
