GBSN G40 ToneX Essential
This amp is the king of the GBSN GA line of amps altogether and the biggest in size and volume. It has 2 channels. Channel I is fat and full, sometimes overwhelming for guitar, but it takes pedals marvelously. Channel 2 is the sweet spot for a guitar going direct into the amp. It has that typical dark GBSN character with a raunchy and never harsh crunch.
As it is a bit on the dark side, captures that have an EQ in front of the am dialed in for a high frequency boost have been included.
We also urge you to explore the ToneX EQ with the darker captures - feel free to dial up the treble or dial down the bass to your taste and you will tailor these sounds perfectly for your guitar.
This amp is meant for crunch and boyound and does not have any REAL clean tones to speak of, but the cleanish tones with a slight edge are marvelous - it is a very unique character. Even at cleanish settings the amp compresses a lot and gives a soft, warm and full sounding "clean" tone like nothing else.
If you are after really clean tones, i suggest dialing down the input gain on the pedal or software because the amp does not sound very good, when dialed in for really clean tones - it is then barely on (like 0.5 on the volume).
The amp was tracked through the built in Jensen P12R speaker, the mics used are 2X Royer R121, 1X Beyerdynamic M160 and 1X Neumann U87.
The set includes 21 amp+cab captures ranging from clean to Lead. Please refer to the table under the product pics for detailed info on each capture.
