Well, this is easily the most iconic guitar amp in history, period.

It is also one of the most desirable and valuable vintage amps around.

This is because it has forever changed the landscape of electric guitar and is the most copied circuit, which was not only the starting point for Marshall, but many other brands used it as a spring-board.

Although the JTM45 is an almost identical clone of the 5F6-A, they sound VERY different. The Tweed Bassman has a more scooped EQ, totally different kind of scoop than in the later Blackface amps, it is a lot warmer than those, warmer and less sophisticated in every good meaning of the word.

The original 4X10 Jensen P10R speakers that this amp was captured through are also in a large part responsible for this amps unique and characteristic sound. It always sounds very clear without ever sounding harsh, which is a rare qality in itself and comes in a big part from the original speakers.

It does sound unique compared to every other Tweed amp and always displays a very punchy, powerful, raunchy, but still controlled and musical quality. It does have a bassy character, but it is more in the punch region and doesn't get in the way.  You literally feel the notes, even in a recording or a capture. It has a very nice and smooth compression and some musical sag at the extreme settings when dimed. But it never gets into the fuzz territory like many other tweeds and always stays strong and controlled.

There is nothing this amp can't do well - cleans, edge of breakup, crunch, even cranked it just roars. Takes pedals with ease, always keeping its punchy character while at it.

So there is no surprise that the user list of this amp is like the hall of fame of electric guitar players: SRV, Rory Gallagher, Joe Bonamassa, ZZ-Top, Buddy Guy, Eagles, Pearl Jam, Crosby, Stills and Nash, Otis Rush, Albert Collins, Merle Haggard, Sue Foley, Paul Kantner, Jerry Miller and it goes on and on.

The set includes 24 AMP+CAB captures ranging from clean to lead and featuring various EQ settings. Please refer to the full list of Tone Models under the product pictures.
