The Driftwood Darkest Nightmare is one of the fiercest and tightest sounding high gain amps we've experienced so far. It runs a quad of KT88 Tubes for an impressive headroom from the power stage that results in very controlled sound even at really high gain levels.
It is voiced perfectly for modern high gain applications and will shine wth a Humbucker equipped guitar. It seems to have been perfectly geared towards 7-string and baritone guitar use, which is where it's headroom and tightness come in handy.
The amp is a simple one channel affair, but if you want to push it to the next level, the built in Tube Screamer circuit will add even more variation and gain that is usable and musical even on nsane levels.
Despite its one channel simplicity, it is extremely versatile due to the ability to handle very different EQ settings gracefully and easily taking any amount of gain without caving in.
A must have, if you are into really heavy tones!
The set features 43 DI captures of the amp. 2 IR's are provided of the Mesa 4X12 with UK made V30's. The mics used were 2x Royer R121, a Beyerdynamic M160 and a Neumann U87. Please refer to the full list of included captures in the product photo section.

As this is a digital product and there is no way to retreive the product after the sale, we issue no refunds on the captures sets, packs or bundles. We do however do our best to convey a good representation of the captures.
Receiving the Captures
With the purchase you will receive a dwonload link to a ZIP file that contains the NAM models (*.nam extension) which can be simply loaded in the NAM plugin.
The included IR's can be also loaded into the NAM plugin, these contain the cabinet simulation and are needed to acquire the intended sound. Of ocurse any other 3rd party IR's can be used instead.
