Fender V-Front Super

The Super was Leo Fender's personal favorite — the circuit he kept tinkering with — and it was the first Fender ever to carry two speakers. You can spot a V-Front by the chrome stringer splitting its angled baffle between a pair of Jensen 10s. The 5B4 circuit runs on 2 6L6s and 3 6SJ7s, it's raw, woody early-tweed tone in its purest form, finger-jointed pine and all. A real piece of the Fender origin story.

Instant time travel to 90's -- the last time when music felt like a music

There's nothing better than trying out new captures and being inspired to write new music. That's exactly what happened to me as soon as I sat down with these captures. Amalgam Audio has tamed this beast of an amp that can be difficult to dial in and delivers the perfect balance of thickness and clarity. Tight, fire breathing high gain tones with attitude that will make you want to rock out for hours. This is no doubt a must have for all high gain enthusiasts.

This is my favourite capture set. Beautifully voiced and so articulate.

I will forever love the Tweed sound - compressed, middy, thick - but sometimes it can get a bit too much. I will always adore the Deluxe Reverb tone - clean, sparkly, iconic - but sometimes it isn't full enough. What if there was a way to blend the Tweed's thickness with the articulation and more sparkly nature of the Deluxe? BEHOLD: the Brownface Deluxe. I can't begin to describe to you how much this amp makes me smile. The cleans still have a bit of compression, allow them to sustain and be articulate. The natural breakup of the amp is so beautiful. And the amp holds up very well when you begin to crank it, much like a Tweed. Chords sound full and powerful when you want them to. Individual notes can be tender and desperately inspiring. For reference, I compared this amp to the Amalgam Tweed and Dual Professional. This was the amalgamation of everything I wanted from a Fender amp.

Really love this capture pack. The Brown panel deluxe seems to be a real goldilocks zone of not being overly scooped like a black panel, but not so crazy/fuzzy sounding as a tweed when cranked.

Everything you'd expect for a Tweed Deluxe capture pack, rocks, roars, cleans, the crazy blown out cranked sounds, it does it all.

Awesome sounds, I don't even play blues, I just like that more vintage-y fat sound. I use it for indie/shoegaze stuff and it sounds wonderful for clean and break up tones. Can get some good fuzzy sounds if you crank the input gain, too.

The quality of the captures is fine, but can't say I like the amp character at all lol I personally find there to be a lot of upper mid/treble content that makes it rather unforgiving to play and harsh on my ears. Probably great in a mix, though.

Tone King Imperial MKII capture sounds very solid and authentic. You can get SRV tone out of the box for a very reasonable price. The most accurate capture on the market.

I just bought this for my Tonex One, already got 3 presets dialed in. Best sounding "JCM800" captures I've found (actually these are 1975 JMP 2203 'Marshall Super Lead' amps that were evolving from Plexi's into the JCM's as we know them. I freakin LOVE THESE!! Good stuff! Amalgam Audio makes great stuff!

Beautiful edge of breakup tones. Playing with a Les Paul (I don't have an SG) you can get very close to Derek Trucks' tone in a variety of ways like the Dimed BRI or Lead Bal TMY KLN captures. I know Derek plays without pedals but some of the captures with pedals can help make up for the sustain you would get if you were in the room with a loud amp. You can play around with the input and output on the NAM Gateway player to influence the tone as well. The Fuzz tones are very musical and work really well with slide. It is also a great pedal platform (e.g., Chase Tone Secret Preamp, Fairfield Circuitry ~900, KoT, etc.). Another favorite amp of mine.

This is awesome and one of my favorite amps. I used a Strat with 13s tuned down half a step and this gives the best SRV tone I have found (the All on 10 or Dimed captures). The fuzz captures are musical and fun and the cleans are great too. I have only experimented a little with my Les Paul but the amp sounded great with that as well.

Unique offerings like this Silvertone pack are the reason Amalgam is level above when it comes to Tonex captures. Not only are the amps captured meticulously with both fullness and high-end clarity, but you get more rare or obscure options that offer variety from the thousands of Fender, Marshall, and Vox amps on ToneNET. I'm still hoping for a V2 upgrade to the 1484 (Twin Twelve) pack, but honestly, the 1485 is a 6x10 beast with a lot of the same sonic qualities. This pack can cover a lot of the same territory as a Fender combo, but the pushed and driven tones have a wonderful lo-fi quality to them has become a cult favorite of 2000's and 2010's indie rock. Feels like it was made especially for me, but I recommend everyone check it out!

Owned the first version of this amp and upgraded to V2. These amps are well-known for their unique breakup when driven - sort of like a 50's Fender Tweed, but with a rougher and raspier sound. However, I'm enjoying the clean tones, which are very expressive and work well with compression and a variety of pickups. I definitely recommend exploring different settings with the gain to find unique gain voicings between the different "static" captures. Great captures!

Another really great one. Everything from Allman Brothers Dickey Betts tone on the Brothers and Sisters Album (Jessica, Southbound, Ramblin Man) to Live at Fillmore. You can get a lot of Allmans mileage out of the Crunch BAL capture by adjusting your guitar volume knobs and Gateway NAM player input/output. With a Strat you can go from Clapton 70's blues (Lead Bal Zen capture) to early Yngwie (the DOD capture). As with all NAM amps, I would recommend a good reverb to really take these to the next level. I use Valhalla Room but I'm sure there are others. Audient ID14 MKII Valhall Room reverb.

Had to sell my OG 1965 BF Super Reverb a few years back. Thankfully, this thorough package of captures exists. Using these with the DI set and the cabs with a little verb and trem is a dead match for the real thing. Packages like this are what keeps folks like Amalgam at the top of my list for killer tones.

This is hands down one of the most amazing Marshally sounding amp packages I've gotten into. It's almost my go-to for everything, it sounds that good. Love the fuzz and other effects captured as well, and offering up 2 different cabs in addition to the DI set is awesome. I'm not a big fan of Zep, but the guitar tone is certainly worth being taken with.

Ordered accidentally while looking for V2 Tonex caps, and I'm glad that I did. Amalgam's V1 of this classic Fender sounds fantastic and even puts a couple of V2 captures I picked up from other sites to shame. Well done.

I'm a little hesitant with V1 captures on Tonex, because some places didn't have their game down yet. But, since the V1 of Amalgam's Deluxe Reverb sounded so good (even better than some V2s from other folks) I took a chance on this one. Glad that I did. It's punchy, it's glassy, it's bluesy and it's Setzery. The DIs sound amazing as well.

Added this pack to take advantage of the 3for2 offer. The other two packs I came for where outstanding, but the surprise was not the quality and quantity of the captures. It was the amp itself. It blew my mind. I really do believe Amalgam make the best captures for NAM. They are great value and incredible to play, giving the feel, dynamics and sound of a real amp in the room. I have not been disappointed yet. I think it’s really great they offer a free sample of the amp captured so you can decide before you buy. However if you’re still not sure their YouTube demos are really well done and very informative.

This is my go to now., does it all. The 45RS is amazing, the JVH is good, waiting on v2 for the SB"REX" cab, and the Jubilee. I would buy a DI pack of the SL68 if they had one.
